Who We Are

The Hageneth Morris Men perform dances from the Cotswold area of England in summer, and from the Welsh borders in winter. The group, or ‘side’, is based in the village of Haughley near Stowmarket in Suffolk, and dances in the surrounding area on Wednesday evenings, and at village fêtes and other events at the weekend.

Hageneth is a member of the Morris Ring of England and can be seen at one or two Ring meetings during the year, and also at other Morris dance events and folk festivals.

The side, formed in 1977 in Haughley, takes its name from an ancient name for the village, and the side’s logo depicts the moat and ancient castle that once was there.

If you would like to join the side, or come along to one of the practice sessions and have a go, then do contact us. We always need more dancers and also musicians (who can be women).
